Did you guys know that my culinary school was started as a plant based school originally? I choose the program when I was working as a manager for 3 farmers markets in NYC. I had a friend attending the program and I would go to potlucks with her and every Friday night the school would host a 5 course plant based supper for the public.

I was, and still am, an omnivore BUT I kept noticing chefs from the school shopping at my farmers markets. It meant a lot to me that it was a “health supportive” culinary institute that focused on quality ingredients and seasonal eats. I wanted to learn to cook for folks with ALL kinds of dietary needs. As soon as I graduated I went to work on organic farms for ten years! It’s hard to believe that now!

This week’s radishes are from my garden, French breakfast radishes, and they are glazed in a pan with maple syrup and sundried tomato. The lentil burger is vegan AND gluten free and features a vegan dill crema for a sauce.

I’ll also be featuring these vegan lentil burgers on the hot dog cart this week on Thursday outside of Table 304

This SUNDAY!! Kick off Wheeling Fashion Week with BRUNCH at the First State Capitol Cellar. Then head down to Esoterica for a Plant & Sip and chill Sunday afternoon.

This is just a walk in and order first come, first serve event. Take out will be available but no online or call ahead orders. My friends Tacet Coffee Cart will be in the building serving their amazing coffees & teas. We hope to see you there!

A few seasons ago I tried some street corners here and there with my hot dog cart and the sales were abysmal. Last year I stuck to festivals. This year, I’ve gotten back out there and today I wanted to cry happy tears! Look at this LINE!! Captured by my buddy Avenue Eats !

Thank you for coming out and supporting this lil one woman show! It has really made a difference to see all the newly paved roads, ample parking on main and folks walking around downtown. Nice sunny day doesn’t hurt either. You guys sold me out and I appreciate it!

As we inch closer to summer and deeper into Spring the catering and festivals ramp up for me as a small business. If you sent me an email request, I’ll be replying to it tomorrow morning!

If you’ve inquired about a date and I told you I was available, please don’t leave me hanging. Picking a menu and putting a deposit down HOLDS and CONFIRMS that date for you. I am one person and VERY busy in the summer. I am also surrounded by loved ones who have weekends off that I like to spend time with. So when I don’t have a gig booked I’m likely planning a trip to take my camper out or visit my family in NY.

All this to say, when I don’t have work booked, I make plans to live my life, I love to do your events but I love to attend some myself. Sooooo if you’re wondering about a catering, let’s get it on the books!

Good Monday morning!! I did NOT publish a menu for this week because it’s a little bit of a rest/recoup and prepare for the weekend kinda week for me!

This means I got to have a date night in Pittsburgh last night. We tried Titusz, a new restaurant (Hungarian) in the lawrenceville neighborhood in Pittsburgh. Everything was delicious and I only got photos of our entrees which were the cirke paprikas (chicken paprika) and the beer bratwurst. We also enjoyed the radishes with whipped duck fat, pickles, liptauer (Austrian cheese spread with crostini), and ramp soup (absolutely insane delicious flavor).

They also had some really thoughtful non-alcoholic beverages options and I enjoyed a mocktail. The space is lovely and inviting and service impeccable. Get out there and try some new food!

No menu for next week folks as I’ll be VERY busy prepping for an insane weekend ahead. But I DO plan on getting out with the hot dog cart on one of those LOVELY 90 degree days!

Come on out tomorrow for the relaunch of Mustard Seed Mountain where I will be mixing mocktails all evening. You can tell me all your relationship troubles and I’ll offer you questionable advice just like a real bartender.

Time for my annual pilgrimage to the Marshall County CO-OP for Spring flowers.

This time I made a pit stop to try out Coal Valley Bun Works because you know what they say, a hot dog a day keeps the doctor away!

I am a simple gal who likes a simple chili cheese dog and theirs was excellent. Give them a try next time you’re in Moundsville!
