39 years ago, John Touhey, Doris Kornish & Phil Hartman had a wild idea — to combine their love of pizza with their love of Cajun cooking (Phil already co-owned a renowned Cajun juke joint, the Great Jones Cafe) and on June 24, 1987, Two Boot Restaurant was born at 37 Ave A in the East Village.

With funky folk art decor (which featured a lot of boots), a vintage jukebox, a stellar staff & a sign in the window that said “CHILDREN WELCOME,” Two Boots was an immediate hit, and would eventually spawn locations all around NYC, and across the USA.

Over 60,000,000 slices later, we’re still going strong with stores in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jersey City and Nashville, TN, but our proudest accomplishment is our deep roots in the community — supporting artists & activists whose great work and good deeds nourish us as much as our pizza nourishes them.

Thank you so much to our fans for all your years of support — here’s to 39 more!
