The mural on our north-facing facade is a replica of the original, painted around 1880. It reads "COPPES BROS. PLANING MILL;" the "AND BOX CO." wraps around the west-facing side of the building. This structure was the first built by John & Frank Coppes on our site north of the tracks, and it was here that wooden shipping boxes were made for various companies (primarily starch) and sent near and far via the nearby train yards.

Here we have two kinds of "sweet" corn from Culinary Mill Market & Deli: the candy corn you, most likely, know and love, and dried sweet corn. Culinary Mill manager, Ruth, tells us that it is an old fashioned ingredient usually rehydrated for casseroles and soups. Don't ask her employee, Alison, what she thinks about it, though 😂!

Will you be having your craft bazzar that you do every year right after Thanksgiving?
On Tueaday, October 27 I went to Rocket Science Icecream with my wife. We ordered icecream and sat at the tables right by Rocket Science to eat it. We had just started eating.A staff member from either the bakery or Rocket Science told us we had to get up and leave because they needed to make sure they had the tables for the lunch crowd but we could sit by the piano in the back if we wanted. As you can see by this pic there weren't any other customers. I feel like we were treated unfairly and that my wife was racially discriminated against. Won't be coming back there again.
Visited today but will not be returning as most people shopping were not wearing masks - please follow guidelines so we can all help lower the number of Covid cases! 😕

After concurring with Barbara Ballint, Executive Director of Belmont County (Ohio) Tourism, Nancy Sartain, Leisure and Marketing Director, Old National Road Welcome Center (Richmond, Indiana) and Karen Barber, COO, Heart Of Ohio Antique Center it was decided to continue to host the Historic National Road Yard Sale each year the first Wednesday AFTER Memorial Day. Went to the Bakery inside Coppes Commons, I bought a Dutch Apple pie $9.99, and I have to sat it is the WORST pie I have ever had! Not what was expected from an “Amish” bakery. They use cubed Apple filling in it that is made for donut filling GROSS, apple pie is supposed to be fresh sliced apples cooked into a filling! Bought a 9x13 tray of cinnamon rolls also not the best, very little cinnamon! Bought a Texas sheet cake 8x8 size was ok but had cake frosting on it not the traditional sheet cake frosting. Putting this out there as I was floored that we spent so much on such lame product. We ate at the deli inside and was very pleased at the price and the meals, barbecue pulled pork EXCELLENT, salad sides all homemade and great, huge difference from the bakery!
