Do you hear it? That delicate crunch when you bite into a deliciously flaky croissant? This croissant is made with creamy Kerrygold butter and ready for your favorite jam or maybe some more butter? Quality croissants should be flaky throughout with no gummy texture. And don’t forget they should be on the darker side of brown. They are brushed with a bit of egg wash to give them that beautiful color. If your croissants are light golden they have probably been undercooked with no egg wash. It is the little details that make a truly wonderful croissant!

Let’s talk strawberry cake. At this time of the year fresh strawberries from local farms are abundant. I love this season because I can whip up yummy cakes and pies! My strawberry cakes are made from fresh local strawberries and filled with a strawberry filling. I can even add strawberry buttercream! Did you know that fresh strawberries contain anthocyanin pigments which cause your cake to turn brown or purple when baked? For this reason I do add a touch of food color to make these cakes pop with that beautiful red color. You can always order your cake without that coloring if you prefer. Fresh strawberry cake - no jello, no mix doesn’t that sound delicious?
