As all of you know, summer in MN = road construction. County Road 110 is closed by Surfside Beach in Mound. WE ARE OPEN DURING ROAD CONSTRUCTION! When visiting the food shelf, please check local closures and access points. Plan ahead for appointments. Thank you!

We have updated our hours on Facebook, including our NEW SATURDAY hours from 9 am - 12 pm starting this Saturday June 6th. You can call or schedule an appointment during our appointment hours or we do take walk-in patrons on SATURDAY'S ONLY. Saturday is a LOBBY SHOP ONLY. You still need an appointment to shop Monday-Friday.

Are you growing a garden this summer? Are you looking to grow more produce but know you won't eat it all? Do you ever have extra produce you are not quite sure what to do with it? Well we have a solution for you! Westonka Community Food Shelf excepts donations of fresh produce from people's gardens to give to our patrons. Our patrons LOVE the variety of produce that comes in during the summer, things we can not get through the food banks. We except donations M-F 9:30-3:00 and Saturdays 10-2 or if you make an arrangement for a drop off at another time in advance. We couldn't do all we do without all of you. Thank you!!

THIS is community in action.
The Mound Masonic Lodge #320 presented a $2000 check to the Westonka Community Food Shelf at our May 15 meeting — a beautiful example of what happens when we connect with purpose.

Westonka Community Food Shelf is so thankful for Westwood Community Church-Westonka and our ongoing partnership to feed our neighbors in need!! They recently planted the food shelf garden behind Bethel and will have members of the church maintaining it throughout the summer. All fresh produce that comes from the garden will go to our patrons at the food shelf who LOVE the fresh items we get in. Thank you for helping us to serve hope, love and food to those in our community!!

Westonka Community Food Shelf has the support of SO many amazing volunteers, for the various events we hold or activities we engage in, each year. We want to highlight these this month to say thank you but also as a way to share opportunities to help. It truly takes a community to help our neighbors in need.

WCFS and the Minnetonka American Legion Post 398 Mound, MN collaborate with SO many other local businesses, organizations and churches to host a FREE Thanksgiving meal ON Thanksgiving day. Last year was the 11th year and we served appoximately 425 people. There is a lot of prep that goes into planning this event, a lot of cooking that happens, and many who work the event. It is an AMAZING meal! Thank you to everyone who comes together to make this happen!! Here are some pictures from over the years.

WOW! We have no words to express how grateful we are for the amazing donation to Westonka Community Food Shelf from Soulaire from Bad Rooster Truck, her team, and Living Faith Spiritual Community. Over 5,000 lbs of AMAZING items!! Thank you for how you love your neighbors in need!

The Faces of WCFS series: as we wrap up our month of thanks to our volunteers (we didn't catch pics of all of you but know we see and appreciate you all), we want to highlight our volunteer appreciation party last night held at Back Channel Brewing (post more pics if you have them!). It was a fun time of connection! Thank you to all our volunteers for all you do to help feed our neighbors in need.

Next month we will be highlighting some of the special events and projects Westonka Community Food Shelf holds. Stay tuned.

The Faces of WCFS series: Our shift teams spend a lot of time together weekly, many have been on the same shifts for YEARS. They navigate all aspects of the shift together, as a unit. Our Thursday PM shift describes themselves as family. Thank you to all of you for making Westonka Community Food Shelf feel like a 2nd home for each other and our patrons.
