MEET OUR TEAM
Name: Cierra
Position: Server
With roots stretching from California, Panama, Ireland, Texas, and Wisconsin, Cierra’s story is anything but ordinary. Born in California and raised primarily in Wisconsin, she grew up as the oldest of five siblings, balancing family responsibilities with a passion for music. As Drum Major of her high school marching band, she led her team to a state championship and a trip to nationals.
Her curiosity about the world led her to Wellesley College, where she studied English and Anthropology. Along the way, she lived and studied in Iceland, spent time with family in Ireland, and completed an internship in Morocco, immersing herself in new cultures and languages.
After graduating in 2020, Cierra’s plans shifted with the pandemic. Eventually, she landed in Minneapolis, where a job as a host at Martina introduced her to the restaurant industry. She quickly fell in love with hospitality and worked her way up to become a server. Along the way, she also fell in love with a lovely bartender named Bex, and the two were married last month in a beautiful outdoor ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
This fall, Cierra and Bex will move to Europe as Cierra begins a master’s program in Critical and Cultural Theory. Her ultimate goal is to earn a PhD and build a career in academia.
Inside Scoop: Cierra is wildly dynamic. She has a green thumb and has brought many friends' plants back from the dead. She's also known for her knack for color analysis and can often guess someone's color season on sight. She could give an impromptu TED Talk on the Enneagram, and she shares an unexpected connection with her grandmother, who was paralyzed in 1979. Multiple family members have told Cierra that she walks exactly as her grandmother did before the accident.
Last Supper: Our former sweet potato dish with lentil and pumpkin seed porridge, her favorite flavor combination of all time. 🍠✨
