Behind the scenes with Caramel & Coals...
Food truck dreams means hard work! Serving our food is the fun part, but lots of work and prep goes into preparing home made food on this scale. Meet our son, Rusty! He is soon to be 10, and is learning to swing an axe and split wood to put in the smoker. He is the kindest and sweetest kid and he does not run away when the work gets hard. His big complaint for the day was that his sleeves were too long to be short sleeved and too short to be long sleeved...lol, honestly he wasnt wrong! There are SOOO many reasons why opening a food truck fits into how we want to raise our kids; teaching children to work hard for what you want is definitely a top priority.

Thank you all for an amazing 4th of July "Popper Fest"! We filled the smoker (twice!) to complete orders and have some to spare. Next Saturday, July 11, will be our last public cook until the middle of August due to vacation, taekwondo tournaments, and birthday parties. The menu for next week will be posted Monday, and I think its going to be fantastic! If you haven't already, be sure to follow our page for menu updates and behind the scene stories of our food truck journey!

Say CHEESE!

Pre shredded cheese is often used in the food service industry because it is quick and easy. It is also coated with anti-caking agents which change the taste and the "meltability" of the cheese.
At Caramel & Coals we shred cheese as we need it. Is it harder? Yes. Is it quicker? Absolutely not....
Does freshly shredded cheese taste better and turn out a better product? 100% yes it does! We take pride in the quality of our products and pay attention to the details!

Next Saturday, we are going to keep a fairly simple menu as we know people have events and celebrations for Independence Day.

Jalapeño Poppers- $18 per dozen
Caramel Apple Bar- $12 each
