Pates Family Seasoning

Many of you have asked about the future of Pates Family Seasoning (and still so many of you don’t know this update) in light of Jeff’s completely unexpected death on August 1. The short answer is: I don’t know. There are recipes to locate and courage to muster, none of which I am sure of yet.

It’s so wonderful how many of you love PFS and the connection you often shared with Jeff (he got many text messages with photos of the food you cooked using PFS)! Feel free to drop some of those photos in the comment section.

Thanks for so many years of sharing in the joy of knowing Jeff Pates and his creations. If I choose to continue this endeavor, you will know it here. 🩵🩵

Here's a before and after photo of a DELISH turkey, submitted by a new Pates Family Seasoning fan Luke B. Smoked on the Big Green Egg for 13 hours using the newest PFS Farmhouse blend. Thanks for the photo, Luke! 😍

When you’re the seasoning maker, you get to keep yourself a jumbo container of ’s favorite blend around the house. 🎉 Tonight, we used it on oven-roasted broccoli, a favorite of ours! 🥦

It’s frittata time. ⏰ 🥚 This one is made with the PFS Dirty South blend, feta, goat cheese, sautéed onion and garlic and a little additional salt and pepper. Oh and small golden potatoes toasted beforehand in the cast iron skillet. // ‘Scuse us while we go eat.

MEMPHIS! You can buy your PFS locally and in person for the month of December! Find us at The Faint of Heart storefront in downtown Memphis (100 Peabody Pl., Suite 175) this month. Store hours are Sunday, 1-6; Tuesday, 10-6; Thursday, 10-6; Friday, 11-7. And don't forget the GRAND OPENING tomorrow night (Fri., Dec. 7) from 6-9pm. Jeff Pates will be there with seasoning samples! Tonight’s veggie pizza includes zucchini tossed in olive oil + PFS Spicy (with a little extra sprinkling of seasoning on the sauce). Bonus: for our GF and vegan followers, this is made on a gluten-free vegan pizza crust!
