What if I told you , you don’t dislike grits; you’ve just never had the prepared correctly? Did you know they can be sweet or savory ? I refer mines sweet while Jacob prefers savory . So we have our fair share of shrimp and grits in our household .
Grits take care and intention. I don’t tend to eat them outside my house due to the fact that most restaurants haven’t seemed to nail it . We’re busy most of the time , so this morning I slowed down to make Jake an intentional meal of smothered tri tip and grits topped with Gloria Morrison micro greens . He claims we eat Great Depression meals because the client comes first 😂😂. He’s a happy man today I promise.
What if I told you… you don’t dislike grits. You’ve just never had them prepared correctly? 👀
Grits are one of those dishes that require a little care, patience, and intention. And yes — they can absolutely be sweet or savory. I prefer mine sweet, while Jacob is firmly on Team Savory. So naturally, there’s no shortage of shrimp & grits happening in this household. 😂
I’m pretty particular about grits, which is why I rarely order them when we eat out. Too many times they’ve been an afterthought when, in my opinion, they deserve to be the star.
We’re busy most of the time, so this morning I slowed down and made Jake an intentional meal: creamy grits, smothered tri-tip, and a little freshness from Morrison Lane Microfarms.
He says we eat “Great Depression meals” because the client comes first. 😂😂
But judging by how happy he was with this plate… I think he’ll survive. 🤣
Good food doesn’t always have to be complicated. Sometimes it just needs time, intention, and somebody who knows how to treat the ingredients right. 👩🏾🍳
