We are glad we made some taste buds happy today for a birthday bash! My DM was flooded with compliments on the food. It’s what we do!! Anybody got anything they need catered? I know some people…. I heard they are pretty good! 😅

Many people are familiar with a sweet potato pie, but a lot of people’s taste buds haven’t experienced a Sweet Potato Cobbler. It’s one of the many desserts we specialize in at LipSmackers. We do it different!!

This is a Triple Crust Sweet Potato pie with spiced sugar crust. 🔥🔥

I NEED your help to SHOW up and SHOW OUTPOURING support for these bright young ladies!! It is our pleasure to do a fundraiser to help these ladies with their passion for Volleyball 🏐

We are having those LipSmackers Chicken N Dumplings and we are asking for a $10 DONATION! Dumplings will come in a 1 pound bowl and come with a drink!!! Lip Smacker’s dumplings always sell out, so we are asking you help make this time no different.

We are PRE-SELLING these so we ask you order ahead of time ok! The Date again is Saturday, February 3rd and we will be setup at Lip Smackers located at 181 Commerce Drive, Mayodan NC 27027. Y’all know where we are. In between Walmart and Dollar Tree. 👉🏽WHO’s EXCITED!?

People always ask me “Todd, who taught you how to cook”? My answer is always the same…. “I just spent a lot of time observing, asking questions and then implementing what I learned”. My grandma (Carlene) stayed with us a long time. So my dad had 6 sisters who would come and visit and take care of grandma. So they were always cooking, so I had plenty of instructors.

My Mac N Cheese, I learned from both my aunts… Roselle (Susie) Dalton and Evelyn Wadlington. I took both recipes and added my own twist and that’s what made it into what it is today. So I have them to thank for that.

Today I had to do Peach Cobbler for William Gainey Jr. He’s been patient and today is his day! I learned cobblers and the crust and all from Elsie (Jeannette) Brown and Evelyn. They did the crust just like grandma and I just kept it rolling. The Sweet Potato Cobbler is one where you have to get that crust and juice right. And you have to use the Red and WHITE sweet potatoes!!

The crust that goes on top of my cobblers, I learned from Gina Hart, and aunt Lucille Smith taught her. So a lot of love and knowledge goes into
What I make. Hopefully it presents well with your taste buds!!

My Chicken N Dumplings, I learned from momma. Cornelia Dalton. I twisted them to my own style and flavor profile, but she taught me.

So many dishes I learned from family and I guess as long as I’m making taste buds happy, you will always be tasting a little bit of their influence!

LipSmackers been up EARLY! 💪🏾 Had to do a LOT of wings along with other menu items!! We have to make it happen for an event today! Thankful for the blessings and the bookings! Making taste buds happy is what we do. Having fun and fellowshiping with people. The smiling faces and when the room get quiet when you serving, THAT is confirmation that we did it right.

These have been renamed “Treva’s Buttermilk Pies” in honor of my sister and dear friend Treva Moore. She looooveed these as do a lot of people. So Renia Penn-Foster you gotta eat all hers now too!! 😅❤️ She will forever be with me. ❤️❤️
