It’s Wednesday friends so we know what that means — yep, forgot to post the menu yesterday for this upcoming weekend 😂. I’m just gonna blame the hot weather and non stop wind, thanks Mother Nature!

We will be open our regular hours this holiday weekend — Friday 4-8pm, Saturday 11-6pm and Sunday 11-3pm — with some comfort food repeats. The menu:
Friday 9/4 — Smoked St Louis Pork Ribs, Hashbrown Casserole, Baked Beans, House Salad, Roll and Dessert
Saturday 9/5 — Pulled Pork Sandwich with Potato Salad or Pasta Salad and Brownies with Sea Salt Caramel Drizzle
Sunday 9/6 — Beef Pot Roast with Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Carrots, Green Beans, Roll and Apple Crisp.

Happy Wednesday friends! Hope this finds you all mapping out plans for the last August weekend and penciling in some time to slow down and take it all in ❤️.

We will be open our regular hours this weekend — Friday 4-8pm, Saturday 11-6pm and Sunday 11-3pm — with a menu sure to bring you back to the dinner table. The menu:
Friday 8/28 — Smoked Brisket, Hashbrown Casserole, Corn, House Salad, Rustic Cheese Bread and Peach Cobbler
Saturday 8/29 — Grilled Burgers with BLT Pasta Salad or Potato Salad and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Sunday 8/30 — Peach Grilled Chicken with Roasted New Potatoes and Smothered Green Beans, House Salad, Roll and Pea Pickin Cake.

Happy hot Tuesday friends! Just checked the weekend weather and…well, you know the rest — it’s August so it’s going to be toasty 😁.

We will be open regular hours this hot weekend — Friday 4-8pm, Saturday 11-6pm and Sunday 11-3pm — for those of you headed into Marquette for a slowdown. Our requested menu:

Friday 8/21 — Smoked St Louis Pork Ribs with Hashbrown Casserole, House Salad, Smothered Green Beans and Pig Pickin’ Cake (Mandarin Orange Cake)
Saturday 8/22 — Baja Bowl with Grilled Chicken or Pulled Pork, Assorted Toppings and Lemon Bars
Sunday 8/23 — Swedish Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Carrots, Green Beans, House Salad, Roll and Spiced Pear Cardamom Cake.

Pencil in some time with friends and homegrown talent Saturday at Smoky Valley Distillery! Need an ice cream fix? City Sundries Soda Fountain and Gift Shop can help you out with that 😎. Want to check out Kansas Motorcycle Museum before the Thunder on the Smoky? Museum is open 7 days a week 👍. Plenty to do when you want to take things at your own pace.

Happy Tuesday friends! We’re going to be heating it up this weekend in Marquette in more ways than one 😎! Between live music at Smoky Valley Distillery, a mud volleyball tournament hosted by Marquette Recreation Commission, a disc golf tournament at Quivira Disc Golf and our ovens cranking tasty treats — Mother Nature can’t compete 😁.

We will be open this weekend with a slight change in hours — open Friday 4-8pm, Saturday 12:15-6pm and Sunday 11-3pm — with a menu full of some of our favorites! The menu:
Friday 8/14 — Lasagna with House Salad, Fresh Bread and Triple Berry Crisp
Saturday 8/15 — *** Opening at 12:15***Pulled Pork Sandwich with Potato Salad, Pasta Salad and Coca~Cola Cake
Sunday 8/16 — Individual Beef or Chicken Pot Pie with Apple Salad and Almond Sheet Cake.

Happy Thursday friends! It’s another August in Kansas — calendars are starting to fill up with all things “back to school” while Mother Nature gives us the occasional fall temperature tease 😊. Yep, I love this time of year!

Thanks everyone for all the positive vibes sent our way this afternoon ❤️. We will be open Saturday 7/25 11-6pm and Sunday 7/26 11-3pm.

An update — a power line snapped in front of our house this afternoon, sheering two poles across the field and two in our yard. Transformer started a fire in the ditch across from our driveway; fortunately Alan was home when it happened and saw the fire. Grateful for Marquette KS Fire Department and their quick response — I saw them drive past the restaurant but had no idea they were headed to our home. Grateful as well for the professionalism of Ds&O Electric Cooperative and Bruce from Hedlund Electric — all four poles have been replaced and we have power this evening.

Again, thanks for all the positive vibes — the phone calls, messages, neighbors showing up to help. All reminders of why we love this community ❤️❤️❤️. Have a beautiful weekend friends.

Ok friends, we are fine but we need to close tonight due to an emergency. Avoid 5th Avenue between K56 and Shawnee Road to allow the fire fighters room to respond.
