Owning and growing a small business is no small task. One of the questions I hear most often is, "Where can I get a grant to start my business?"

The truth is, there are very few grants available to start a traditional for-profit business. Most grant funding is awarded to nonprofit organizations or businesses in specialized industries. That doesn't mean entrepreneurs are out of options—it means we need to do a better job connecting them with the right resources, training, financing, and support.

Small businesses are the backbone of our rural communities. They create jobs, serve our neighbors, sponsor local events, and help keep our local economy moving.

As your State Representative, I want to support entrepreneurs by advocating for:
• Greater access to startup and expansion capital
• More technical assistance and business coaching
• Stronger partnerships with Small Business Development Centers
• Programs that help businesses grow in rural communities
• Expanded broadband and infrastructure that allows businesses to compete
• Policies that encourage entrepreneurship and keep local dollars circulating in our communities

Economic growth doesn't only come from attracting new companies. It also comes from investing in the people who already have the vision, determination, and courage to build something right here at home.

District 57 has entrepreneurs with incredible ideas. They deserve opportunities to succeed.
