Market Report July 25th: It's hard to believe we're already halfway through our Fresh Roots Market season!
Today's weather couldn't have been more perfect—a light breeze, sunshine, and comfortable temperatures that made for a wonderful morning at the market. Best of all, so many of you came out to enjoy everything our vendors had to offer.
The tomatoes were gone within the first hour! Don't worry—there will be plenty more next week. Be sure to get your hands on some of those beautiful, locally grown Grant County tomatoes.
One of our favorite things as vendors isn't just making sales—it's watching people slow down, linger at each booth, and enjoy conversations with friends, neighbors, and vendors. Fresh Roots Market is so much more than a place to buy healthy, fresh food. It's a place to gather, catch up, share stories, and enjoy the simple pleasure of community. In a world that often feels rushed, those moments are good for the soul.
A few highlights from today's market:
•New Magnets! Pick one up next time (they’re Free!) and stick it on your fridge to help remind you of your favorite market!
• Both of our sourdough vendors sold out of bread once again!
• Carmen's gorgeous flower bouquets were a huge hit. She took home just one bouquet. Next week, let's help Carmen achieve a complete sellout!
• Mama Margie joined us for her second week, giving away free vegetable plants that were greatly appreciated. She also has an amazing selection of perennials and other hard-to-find plants.
• Rachel and Terry had another commitment this week, but they still sold 10 pounds of green beans and four dozen fresh eggs through the Fresh Roots booth. They'll be back with us next Saturday!
• Simply Cupcakes brought the most beautiful cupcakes and sold nearly every one of them. Their farm-raised chicken was also very popular.
• At the Fresh Roots booth, all but one of our large pizza crusts sold, and our dill focaccia disappeared quickly once again. If you missed it, we're sorry! After three straight weeks of harvesting dill, we're going to let it recover, so you probably won't see dill focaccia next week—but we're already thinking about a new flavor. Our Jalapeño Cheddar focaccia was another customer favorite!
To every customer who visited today—thank you. We truly feel blessed to do what we love: growing food, baking bread, creating beautiful things, and nourishing people inside and out. Your support means more than you know.
