The Alamosa / Great Sand Dunes KOA Journey campground is seeking 3-4 volunteers to help with their 4th annual SLV Battle of the Bowls Chili Cook-off to be held at the Alamosa KOA Campground.

1 volunteer at the Welcome Center where the shuttle is located (Freedom Wagon) taking people to the KOA.

Each year The Alamosa KOA partners with Care Camps Foundation, (a 501(c)3 Non-Profit) to hold this event to raise money for their foundation. Care Camps Foundation was founded by a group of KOA Campground owners over 40 years ago because they recognized that every child, including those battling cancer, need to have the opportunity to go camping and experience the healing power of the outdoors. Care Camps mission is to support pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada and provide these opportunities to any child. We recognize that every community is touched by childhood cancer. Supporting Care Camps means helping ensure that when a child or family from the San Luis Valley needs camp, it is there for them.
