It’s time for another long overdue introduction..

Ladies and Gentlemen please say hi to Chef Emily Bizzell.. You have seen her in our videos.. but this time, we pulled back the curtain some..

Chef Emily is currently in Culinary School, is a full time employee, is a single mom, and travels an hour to work every day.. She is an OG in this kitchen and has completely taken control of our baking program here at the Bistro.

A lil Q&A…

Favorite Music: R&B/Gospel
Pizza Toppings: Sausage and Pepperoni
A good night is: a night out with the girls. Game night and some drinks..

First kitchen memory: Helping mom and grandma in the kitchen.. I would shuck corn, snap peas, and gut and clean fish.. (She was 10!)

What do you think about Culinary School: I love the support and the resources.. What I don’t like is the unnecessary classes. Like computer class.. I know how to use a computer. I know excel and I use it all the time.. i didn’t learn anything in the class I didn’t already know.

Proudest professional moment: Cooking the duck for the Chefs night. (She executed wonderfully).

5 year plan: I want to own a catering company. I still have a lot to learn on the business side so I’m going to keep on full time til I learn, then maybe split time between the two.

We thank you Bizzell Em for being part of this team, for taking responsibility, for taking ownership. It is truly an honor and a pleasure to see you grow.

We have 2 new treats in this post for our locals this evening.. There is another, but those fresh biscuits aren’t out of the oven yet.. 😏

First - Mozzarella stuffed Arancini (fried risotto balls) in Pesto Cream with Cherry Tomato Salad..

Second - Honey Barbecue brushed Bacon Wrapped Chicken Wings on Curried Corn with Green Onion.

Third - I told you… the biscuits aren’t done yet…

Those with the pics were sampled, devoured, and most certainly approved of by our team here at the Bistro..

This time, we’re taking you on A Culinary Journey Through South Africa. Join Executive Chef Bobby Lafferty for a thoughtfully curated four-course dinner as he walks guests through the inspiration and preparation behind each course.

Making this evening even more special, we’ll welcome Mathilda Joubert, co-founder and owner of SA-vor W**es, as our guest speaker. Mathilda will guide us through the world of South African w**e, sharing her knowledge, stories, and passion as we enjoy a paired South African w**e with each course.
