Lamb season has begun. We had our first lamb last night, many more expected over the next little bit. The first one out of the shoot was from Sydney, our Lincoln/Cotswold Cross. It is a ram lamb and very cute.

We have a short break from piglets. We had 3 litters going there for a while and we just weaned our last one this week. It will be a short reprieve however as we are expecting another litter sometime in the next week. I am starting to get the feel for when they are coming, but still occasionally surprised.

We have had two sets of piglets in the last week and a half. We started out with Anabella having 5 piglets that are a Mulefoot/Large Black cross. Guinevere had 7 piglets on Thursday which are pure breed large blacks. We still have purebred Mulefoots coming sometime in the next 7-10 days.

We got some chickens this last week and we also have 10 turkey's. This time we have Delaware chickens so we will see how they compare to the Buckeyes that we got 5 weeks ago.

We have had our sheep and pigs on pasture for a few weeks. I am doing a 1 week rotation and it looks like I will end up with about 8 or 9 rotations until I have to repeat

I forgot to mention that we butchered our 6 lambs from last year last Tuesday. We use IGFC which is the mobile processing facility that is USDA inspected. We have already sold most of it, but we will have some shoulder and a few other cuts left over. Nimbus is taking the loin, legs, and shanks for a couple of catered events.
