I took a bit of inspiration from acrylic paint pouring and applied it to frosting. Admittedly, these were more of a dunk than a pour but I still enjoyed the results. Next time I'll thin the royal icing a bit more first. These beauties are available in the cabinet outside of Verdant today (10/10) and tomorrow (10/11). You can also message me to arrange a pickup or customize and order of your own.

The new soap dispenser isn't dispensing soap.
Printer is jamming.
Reinstalled drains are leaking.
Garage door won't close.
Railroad track arms are down with no train in sight

So many weird little obstacles in the 24 hour leading up to inspection time.

Stress, exhaustion, and anxiety kept saying I should just call it a night and accept I wouldn't be ready for the inspection.

An early morning visit from the plumber and a quick cleaning of the floor were completed just in time.

I'm thrilled to share my little commercial kitchen is officially licensed! Whoohoo!!

The inspector was really pleased with the space and we had a great conversation about my vision for the business.

I'm looking forward to breaking in the new oven but tonight I'm taking it easy and going to bed early.

The space is cleared as best I can at this stage. I'm feeling a bit clausterphobic with all the things collecting in other spaces of the house. The flooring guys will be back to replace the vinyl this morning.

The delivery company offered me $332 to settle my claim. No explanation of how they came up with that number but I'll be disputing it regardless.

I spotted these gorgeous pops of fall color today, and now I’m officially ready for cozy baking season.

So tell me — what are your favorite fall flavors?

Cinnamon. Apple. Maple. Pumpkin. Caramel. Toasted pecans. Warm spices.

There’s just something about that first hint of color in the trees that makes me want to turn on the oven and start dreaming up all the flavors of fall.

I’m especially excited for this new season—new flavors to bake, new ideas to bring to life, and a nearly finished space to make a little more magic happen. 🍂

I was so confident I would be ready for an inspection after I received this one last delivery I emailed my contact at the health department today about getting on his schedule.

When I ordered the refrigerator I knew it was going to be a snug fit. I'd visualized (ADHD superpower) how they should be able to tilt the fridge and roll it through the threshold despite the space constraint imposed by the hallway. I expected it to be a difficult but doable task. And it worked...kind of...

What I hadn't accounted for was a delivery team that would rely on the refrigerators casters rather than a dolly which might have provided the little extra lift they need to keep the sharp corners from putting gouges in my new floor. As they pushed it through the door and lifted it upright onto its casters my celebration quickly turned to a blank stare and nearly useless statement "my new floor...".

Part of me wanted to cry, the kitchen is so close to being ready. But this is just a little setback not a major issue.

The delivery driver submitted an incident to their dispatch. Once my work meetings wrapped up I submitted a claim as well. Tomorrow I'll call the flooring company to see what can be done.

I'd planned to spend the evening getting everything set up but I'll pause and rest until I know what repairs will entail.

Happy to report we breezed through the final building inspection today. 🎉🎉

Beyond grateful for KP Plumbing, Dunham Electrical Edge, Graham's Flooring & Design, and CB Handyman Services for their excellent work getting me through this stage.

No doubt my long weekend will be spent moving in equipment and supplies. Next step will be getting the health department approval to start using the space.
