Got garlic sitting on your counter? Here's the easiest way to use a whole head at once:

Peel off the loose papery outer layers, slice the top off, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, and roast at 400° for 40 minutes. Squeeze the cloves out like toothpaste and spread on bread, stir into mashed potatoes, or mix into softened butter for garlic bread that'll ruin store-bought forever.

Every year thousands of tons of topsoil wash into the nations rivers and out into the ocean. Unfortunately, in many cases the person who should care the most (the farmer) thinks it is normal and unavoidable.

🌱 Here at Friendly Roots we protect against erosion in a couple ways:
#1 is having a healthy soil. Soil where biology and minerals are balanced will not be nearly as susceptible to erosion.
#2 is having the soil covered as much as possible, either with growing plants, compost, or mulch.
#3 is having living roots in the soil as much as possible. This holds the soil in place as well as promoting the first two rules, the leaves provide protection from sun and rain and generate sugars that feed biology which in turn make minerals available to the plant.
