This may seem like just another cookie cake, but to me it's a symbol of everything I had hoped this little pink house would be.
This mama told me that a friend recommended us when she was looking for an LGBTQIA+ friendly bakery to make a cookie cake for her daughter.
Creating a safe place where everyone can be their authentic selves is so incredibly important to me and I'm so glad we've created that here. 🩷🩷🩷

Today's tea spotlight: lemon!
Unlike a lot of lemon teas, this one isn't herbal. It's a black tea with chunks of lemon peel and is great with honey. Don't steep it too long though or it's like drinking Pine Sol. 🤪🤪

Today's tea of the day:
Midsummer peach.
This one is a decaf black tea with actual chunks of dried peaches in it.
So. Good.
I hate fruity tea but this one is subtle and not over the top fruity. Add in some honey and pair it with a classic sugar cookie or our coffee cake and you've got a winner.

I felt like these needed a permanent spot on the feed.
Know what makes me laugh? These are ugly as all get out (not a cookie decorator, remember?) and they still sold out.
And yeah, maybe it's just a cookie and it won't do anything to change what's happening in the world, but seeing a line out the door, standing next to people in line, seeing people post about them--that reminds us that there are still good people out there who are fighting the good fight.
And getting a laugh at the expense of old you know who? That's just icing on the cookie.

Everyone constantly asks if I'm Olive. I get emails on the daily addressed, "Dear Olive," and one time someone claimed they spoke to Olive on the phone and she assured them that they could have whatever it was they were wanting. 😂
For all the new folks here:
I'm Ashley.
The lady in the photo is my great-granny, Olive.
And that's her rolling pin and biscuit cutter next to her photo.
Today would have been her 104th birthday.
She passed in 2013 and not a day goes by that I don't think of her.
She was a feisty little firecracker who did whatever she wanted and wasn't afraid to let her feelings be known.
She was the matriarch of our family- showing me that hard work was something to be proud of, that you're never too busy to stop and watch your day-time soaps, that you can make something with nothing, that red lights are optional if no one is coming (I don't abide by that rule 😂), and she gifted me with a hard-headedness that keeps me going even on the hardest days.
Someone told me that she must have been pretty amazing if I wanted to name my bakery after her.
They were absolutely right.
Happy Birthday, Granny. I hope this little pink house makes you proud. 🩷
