I dont know if other Asian cultures are like this, but in addition to eating great meals, there are many other food dimensions in Thailand, especially rural or “down home” Thailand. For example, there is the whole “talking about food” aspect. There is the “Auntie so and so has this in the market this week!” (The shopping for ingredients) aspect. The group cooking by the whole family aspect. This Thai drama reminds me of all of the other food dimensions in a large Thai family. This first episode is pasted from youtube. The cinematography, food and cooking scenes are mouth watering. The story line is engaging, but since my Thai is rusty at best, I really have to work at the dialog. (The dubbing is not very good, but I listen past it)
