You guys… the rumor mill has been working overtime and I think it’s time to set the record straight. 😄
I’ve been asked several times in the past month if I was on the Food Network. I have no idea where that started, but I won’t lie, it makes me smile every time.
Here’s the real story.
My “claim to fame” goes back to the very first cake competition I ever entered. I almost didn’t do it. I had talked myself out of it more than once because I was convinced I wasn’t good enough. But I finally decided if I wanted anything to come of this cake dream, I had to at least try.
And somehow, I ended up winning Grand Champion in my division. 🏆
Part of that meant meeting the guest judge himself, Buddy Valastro, and getting one of those big oversized checks on a stage in front of a packed room. It was surreal and something I’ll never forget.
Now, to be fair to the rumor mill, I have done a little TV. When I was in Utah, I was invited on local news a few times. Three spots on Fox 13 and one on Studio 5. So maybe those moments got mixed together into something bigger.
But no, I wasn’t on the Food Network, and I don’t have plans to be. Those high-pressure competition shows are not really my thing.
Still… I’m definitely flattered you’d think so. 💚
