What happens when you put a journalist and a serial entrepreneur around the same table?

You get a pretty interesting conversation.

On Episode 4 of Cooking with a CEO, I sat down with WBIR’s Robin Wilhoit and Knoxville entrepreneur Eddie Mannis.

We talked leadership, building great teams, setting clear expectations, growing businesses, and navigating the chaos that comes with work and life.

Two very different careers. Two unique perspectives. Plenty to learn from both.

Episode 4 is live now.

Pull up a chair and join us at the table. And, I hope you enjoyed the fabulous sound quality of my earbuds. 😏

Getting to watch students put their skills to work is one of my favorite parts of nights like this.

I had the pleasure of hosting Plates for a Purpose alongside Chef Drew McDonald of The Plaid Apron, supporting Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management students at Pellissippi State Community College.

The students handled everything from the kitchen to the dining room. They worked together, adapted, and took care of our guests. They have plenty to be proud of.

Having spent five years teaching culinary arts, I know how much an experience like this can mean. You can teach the skills, but getting to use them with real guests builds a different kind of confidence.

Thank you to Carrie Poteat for helping sponsor the w**e, the Pellissippi State Foundation, and all the educators, sponsors, and guests who made the evening possible.

You’re helping these students take their next step into East Tennessee’s food and hospitality scene.

Can I get a “Yes, Chef!” 🙌

What happens when you put two Knoxville leaders around the same table?

🎬 Episode 4 of Cooking w/ a CEO is officially in the works.

Today I welcomed Eddie Mannis, entrepreneur, founder of Prestige Cleaners and longtime civic leader, and Robin Wilhoit, longtime WBIR anchor and one of East Tennessee’s most recognizable storytellers.

We cooked. We ate. And we talked about the stuff that matters:

Leadership. Career journeys. Priorities. Pressure. And how you stay grounded when life gets chaotic.

Some of the best leadership lessons happen around the table.

Episode 4 coming soon. Stay tuned. 🍽️
