Gluten-free treats for your weekend are headed to the Maryville Farmers' Market and Market Square Market tomorrow (Saturday 5/30)! As I all-caps-texted to the team earlier this week, "MAMA'S GOT CAROLINA PEACHES" and we're ushering in a new month with BLACKBERRY PEACH GALETTES! I could not be more psyched about this -- I listened to "Perfect Day" from Legally Blonde while packing up the car just now and I think that plus a summer fruit galette is sufficient to pull ya up out of some depression if you're feeling it these days. We also have:

• Lemon Loaf Cake
• Loaded Baked Potato Galette (I won't say it's the LAST week for these but we're getting close to replacing them with some other savory summer favorites)
• Rosemary Olive Focaccia, dare I say the best batch yet
• Choc Chip Cookie (brown butter, flaky salt)
• Cardamom Snickerdoodle
• Cinnamon Rolls

A WORD ABOUT THE WEATHER, by which I mean HUMIDITY: it has been a real struggle to keep product happy in this heat and I do expect that we will need to drop all frosted items earlier this year than I have in the past, so, get your cinnamon rolls while you can and we will figure out a solution for offering them in another setting if possible.

THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE : You know, the forecast says rain every day, but it also said that last week, and most of the days it was sunny every day too, so that's the energy we'll bring into the week. TWO things can be true, and we are all more than a storm cloud icon!

WEDNESDAY 5/27 we're at from 10 to 1. We are in a DIFFERENT SPOT opposite where we were last week, next to

Farmers' markets are RAIN OR SHINE, and we have two tomorrow (Saturday 5/23)! 8:30-11:30 and 9-1. I spotted my first fireflies of the summer this evening, so I'd say things are looking up no matter the weather.

Let us know tomorrow if you want cookies next week, Maryville. They have not been selling out for the most part so we figured we'd take a breather this week! My favorite this week is actually our blueberry scone. The least glamorous item on the tray, probably, but I am obsessed with its wholesomeness, is the best word I can say, and its comforting slight sweetness. Did I eat 2.5 "broken" ones today instead of lunch? No, absolutely I did not.

A little glimpse from my POV of the pastry case when I am sitting down due to the HEAT! Thanks for coming out to Market Square, Knoxville! Reminder that we are not going to be at tomorrow (Thurs 5/21) but you can find us there next week, as well as Saturday at , and any day of the week at .

PS an old segment about making hand pies aired on the news this morning, I learned - we love the press, but we aren't open at the storefront! Come find us at markets!

We have a sunny forecast for today (Wednesday) so you have zero excuses for not swinging by Market Square from 10 to 1 today! Strawberry season is on its way out but we still have these gorg strawberry galettes for you (someone on Saturday told me they were the prettiest pastries in the whole market 🥹 I don't know about that but it was kind)! We've also got rosemary olive focaccia, cheddar chive scones, raspberry hand pies, cardamom snickerdoodles, and chocolate chip cookies on deck. See you soon , gluten-free pals!

SCHEDULE + BAKERY BTS: first, where to find us! This week we are at on Wednesday from 10 to 1 and Saturday from 9 to 1! We're also at the from 8:30 to 11:30. IMPORTANT: we are taking a week OFF from our Thursday pop-up at Husmus but don't worry, back next week!!

BEHIND-THE-SCENES: some shots from bakery life that aren't my typical post!

1) honey buns pre-frosting! if you haven't tried them yet, I do love them more than a cinnamon roll tbh! We will only have on Saturday this week, btw
2-3) what it looks like to start packing boxes for the market at the end of the week
4) strawberry slice party, which, we've got maybe one more week after this of fresh strawberry items
5) the construction zone we call our bakery (more on this soon)
6) my little clown car doing the most to live a market life she was never meant to live 😂
7) my POV of the pastry case on a rainy slow day

10) my dog, on her way home from the vet yesterday, because she ate one of our chocolate chip cookies 🫠 (because of course she had to get some of the last batch we made with dark chocolate)

I work really hard to make what WE make look as good on the screen as it tastes IRL, and to also be honest online about what is going on IRL, too. Lately, I haven't been as open online about how truly tough things have been in this first year of brick & mortar ownership. We opened the doors a year ago Friday. The fact that we haven't been able to re-open has taken a huge toll, despite all the recent posts about market sellouts, and I'm going to need to make a big (BIG) ask for your help soon. I'm nervous about it, so I'm prefacing it. I love this work we do, and we want to keep serving you. Stay tuned.
