Sleep in, Ithaca!
La mexicana ☀️ has been our summer love! We would’ve never guessed that we would’ve met so many beautiful people running a weekend-only breakfast stand. It has been a journey unlike any other!
Learning everything from the beginning and jumping into something we’ve never explored before has taught us a lot of valuable lessons in ambition, endurance, humility and knowing when to back down. This project served us well (as ephemeral as it was), and allowed us to truly consider what brings us joy.
We just hope it brought you joy too, Ithaca! ❤️ We’ve always respected those in the food industry and have experienced working as servers and baristas— but have never stepped in the deep end like this!!! 😭
Ultimately, we are also exhausted. Between doing our usual full-time jobs, and the additional 20 or so hours prepping food + selling weekend mornings- we totally burned ourselves a bit! ☀️
This month of rest allowed us to reflect and in turn make the really really difficult decision to close. We’re going to miss all the beautiful people we got to serve and laugh with, we hope you can extend that love you showed us to another sweet local place!
