With May Term finishing up, I want to give a huge shoutout to some really Rockstar students. 🤩 These students successfully ran the food trailer for three days straight, actually, they knocked it out of the park! We also had several caterings and I focused on those with other awesome students while these students did everything from preparation, loading, selling, serving, unloading, and clean up each day. Watching students learn from their peers, get excited, and step up is truly fulfilling. My students are the reason I do what I do and are the backbone of Cadet Kitchen!

Also a huge thank you to the community for all of the support for Cadet Kitchen, not only this week, but all year. Whether we catered an event you attended, you enjoyed our frozen take-n-bake, you ate one of our Cafe meals, or ordered something from the food trailer, Thank You!! ‼️Calling all IFA Cadet Kitchen Alumni, friends & families ‼️
Ever wanted to work a food trailer and see how much fun it is first hand? Do you love supporting our youth and our programs and promoting IFA? We have an opportunity for you this summer! We are looking for volunteers to help at the Franklin County Fair. Fair dates are July 10-14. There are 2 shifts available each day from 10-4 and 4- close. You can work one shift or the more the merrier! Would love to have you working with our students! Let me know if you are interested and we can give you more details.

The Heart of Iowa Blowout has always been a tremendous learning experience for our students! Our students are involved with the entire process:
🐮 Prepare a menu based around large quantities
🐮 Set up the square system
🐮 Assist in setting prices
🐮 Design and market the menu and show
🐮 Make and serve all of the food!
And many other tasks!
