Our last day was a roller coaster of emotions. We are so grateful for all of the people that came out to support us one last time. It was easily the biggest day we’ve ever had at Soulshine.

These past two years have been an incredible journey for our family. While we have certainly experienced our fair share of stress and challenges while owning a restaurant, what we’ll remember most is the community that gathered here during this time.

There are so many regulars that we’ve had during our time here that it would be impossible to name them all. But to those of you who came in to Soulshine enough to establish a first-name basis, we can’t thank you enough.

We couldn’t have done this without the help of our family. Thank you Bill & Karen for your endless support as we sought after our dream with Soulshine.

Thank you Brady for stepping up and helping us out on Saturdays while also doing all that you do for the local music community. You’re the real deal and we’re proud to be your friends.

Thank you Kristin for being the hardest damn worker during your time here. You are a multi-talented badass and we hope you succeed with whatever step you take next.

And Jordan — thank you for being with us from our first day to our last. You’ve become a brother to us, and we would move you into our house if we had the room.

Our goal was to provide quality, affordable, cruelty-free food for you. We wanted to provide a comfortable space for like-minded people. I like to think that we succeeded. At the end of the day, we got to make some amazing friends, as well as memories for ourselves and our four children. Thank you for being a part of it.

We are so excited to see you all, it’s so bittersweet. Two years ago we were opening our doors and meeting you all for the first time, now we are welcoming you in one last time. We have made so many memories and friends. Thank you all so much for the love and support you’ve given us. I hope we see you all around.

Our final day of operation happens to coincide with Taylor Swift weekend here in Indy. We’re here for it! Madison’s been working night and day to bring you these delicious and decorated mini-cakes, each themed according to a particular Swift album:

ERAS CAKES:

-REPUTATION: black velvet cake with black cocoa buttercream
-RED: red velvet cake with cherry glaze & cherry buttercream
-FOLKLORE: gluten-free almond chai cake with chocolate almond chai buttercream
-MIDNIGHTS: blueberry cake with a lavender blueberry glaze and lavender buttercream
-LOVER: Earl Grey cake with a rose water glaze & rose swiss buttercream
-TAYLOR SWIFT (self-titled): apple cider donut cake with donut sugar buttercream

These will be available first come first serve when we open for the final time, 9AM this Saturday (11/2). Don’t miss it!

Mark your calendars — our last day open will be Saturday, November 2nd! We’ll be cooking up a storm for our last day, and we’ll announce the menu and desserts closer to the date.

We’ve asked a very talented artist, to design farewell merch for us. These ethically and eco-consciously made T-shirts and sustainably produced beanies are now available for preorder! Preorder is available until 10/25. These items can be picked up on our final day, 11/2, or be shipped. This merch is super cool and will be a big help for us as we make this final transition!

Due to a number of factors, including staffing, parenting obligations, and the logistics of our gradual closing, we’ve decided to remain closed this upcoming Saturday (9/7). We will then reopen Saturday 9/14 and continue working Saturdays until it’s no longer feasible. Thank you for your patience, and know that we appreciate you.
