Coedo is the nickname for Kawagoe , a city in Saitama Prefecture Japan, located in the Greater Tokyo Area. Since before modern Tokyo, Kawagoe has been influencing Japanese culture through its fashion, art and agriculture.

Coedo Curry was founded in 1897 after the Meiji Restoration and became a popular menu here along with Sukiyaki. A recipe that was allegedly lost after the dealth of the founder Some Ino was discovered in 2021 and restored by his descendants.
