A Small Price Update — and a Big Thank You ❤️
We want to share a small price update with you, and most importantly, thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Since we started our food truck journey in the fall of 2023, the cost of beef has increased significantly. When we first started, we intentionally priced all of our rice bowls the same because we wanted our community to easily try a variety of Asian flavors without making our menu complicated or less accessible.
Last summer, when beef prices rose sharply, we faced a difficult decision. A $2 increase on our beef items would have reflected the full increase in cost, but instead, we chose to raise the price by just $1 and absorb the rest ourselves. We hoped this would allow us to keep our prices steady for a while.
Unfortunately, beef costs have continued to rise, and another small adjustment is now necessary. Starting October 1, our Bulgogi Steak Bowl and Handmade Beef Dumplings will increase by $1.
We also want to be transparent about another part of the picture. Recently, we’ve noticed that the percentage of customers who leave a tip has decreased significantly. We completely understand that the rising cost of living is affecting all of us, and there is absolutely no expectation or pressure to tip. We simply wanted to share this as one of the factors behind this adjustment. Tips have traditionally helped us offset some of the costs of running our truck, so the decrease has made it a little more difficult for us to absorb continued increases in operating costs.
Our goal is simple: to keep our beef dishes on the menu and continue serving them at the quality you’ve come to expect from Wok Me Up Food Truck .
And there is good news: our pork, chicken, and tofu bowls will remain at their current prices. Those prices have never increased since we started three years ago.
Thank you for understanding the realities behind this small price change and, most of all, for continuing to support our small business. Every visit, every meal, and every kind word means so much to us.
