Sunday Thoughts 💭
I’ve been thinking about some things a lot and probably more than I should have about how much life has shifted since a little cottage bakery called *Moore to Love* went from a little idea at my kitchen table to a food truck and now a whole real diner with real people, real responsibilities, and real impact.
Caleb and I talk about it often. How it’s stretched us. How it’s humbled us. How it’s pushed us in ways we didn’t see coming. And how, even on the hardest days, we’re still so dang grateful for what this has become.
Now that we’re settling into the groove of our first brick‑and‑mortar, I’ve been thinking about growth… and about what I never want to lose in the process.
And yes — I’ve seen the comments.
“Overrated.” 🙄
"Overpriced."💸
“I wouldn’t wait 30 minutes for food.”😵💫
And really? That’s fine.👌
We’re not everyone’s cup of tea. Not everyone understands why we use the ingredients we do, why we refuse to cut corners, or why there might be a wait when the restaurant is full and every plate is being made fresh, not slapped together by people who have no passion for the industry.
I used to take those comments straight to the chest and sometimes I still do. I catch myself looking at the negative comments and reviews more than the positive because Im human and want to make everyone happy. I’m hands‑on. I care deeply. When you pour your whole self into something, every complaint feels personal. But I’ve learned that not every business is for every person… and it doesn’t have to be.
We’re not trying to be the cheapest, fastest or serve food that is bland and appeasing to everyones tastebuds .
We’re trying to be different — worth the drive, worth the wait, worth the support. We want to serve food we’re proud of, take care of our team, create jobs, support our community, and build a place people genuinely look forward to coming back to. Quality and consistency will always be our non‑negotiables.
Growth is exciting, but it’s also heavy. More employees depending on us. More customers trusting us. More decisions. More pressure. More responsibility to get it right.
But through all of it, we never want to lose the heart behind what we’ve built. We never want to become ordinary. We never want to start cutting corners. We never want to forget the people who helped us get here.
Some folks may think we’re overrated.
Others tell us we’re their absolute favorite.
Some wouldn’t wait 30 minutes.
Others gladly do because they believe in what we’re building and love the brand they’re supporting.
Both can exist at the same time.✨️
We’ll keep listening, learning, and improving but we’ll also keep standing firm in who we are and the flavor we believe in. 💗
We may not be everyone’s cup of tea… but we’re incredibly thankful to be somebody’s favorite. ❤️
