Why Frosted? 🍧

Almost two years ago, Frosted was nothing more than an idea.

I was looking for a way to supplement our income, but honestly, I wanted more than that. I wanted to find something that was fun. Something that gave us a reason to get out into the community. Something that Alicia and I could build together without taking away too much of the time we had with Lincoln.

I work full-time in oral surgery, and Alicia was working at Lincoln’s preschool. Life was busy. We didn’t have a ton of extra time, money, or resources to throw at a new business.

But we had an idea. And sometimes, that’s enough to start.

I played with names. I played with logos. I changed my mind approximately 47 times. 😂 I thought about how we could make it work, how we could get people to actually find us, and eventually came the part I was really uncomfortable with…

Putting ourselves out there.

Let me tell you—promoting yourself and your little dream on social media is HARD. 😂 It feels vulnerable to say, “Hey, we made this thing… would you like to support us?”

But you did.

Our uncle and his shop, Custom Enterprises, Inc. in Burlington, NC, were the masterminds behind our cart and helped turn something we had been talking about into something we could actually take out into the world.

And somewhere along the way, Frosted became so much more than we ever expected.

It became people waving us over at events. Kids getting excited when they see the cart. Birthday parties. School events. Churches. Businesses. Veterans. Families. Meeting people we probably never would have crossed paths with otherwise.

It became conversations, smiles, hugs, encouragement, and little moments that reminded us that this is about so much more than selling Italian ice.

It’s about people.

Frosted has given us a way to connect with our community and, hopefully, bring a little happiness with us wherever we go. And from the very beginning, we’ve wanted to give back whenever we’re able to—even while we’re still figuring this whole thing out ourselves.

Our dream is still to one day have a Frosted truck or trailer. We don’t know exactly what the future holds, but we know we’re excited to keep building this little dream one event, one cup, and one connection at a time.

And honestly, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Every person who has booked us, bought a cup, shared a post, recommended us to someone, invited us somewhere, encouraged us, or simply said “I’m proud of you” has meant more than you probably realize.

You’ve taken something that started as an idea in our heads and helped turn it into something real.

Frosted started because we wanted to make a little extra income and have some fun.

It stayed because it became something that brought us joy.

And now, we can’t imagine our lives without it.

Thank you for believing in our little dream.
