The (we can do it!) Mountain Sage Fact Sheet:
Many people have asked for more information on what to say when they join us Feb. 19th and what to write in letters if they can't make it.
We put together a FACT SHEET to help you letters of support to: Ms. Quincy Yaley at: [email protected], and [email protected] and cc: us at [email protected]. Thanks!
The (we can do it!) Mountain Sage Fact Sheet:
What: Conditional Use Permitting (CUP) Approval, Tuolumne County Planning Commission
When: February 19th, 2020 6pm (doors 5:30)
Where: Board of Supervisors Chambers, Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors Chambers, Fourth Floor, 2 South Green Street, Sonora, CA 95370
Why: 1) To allow Mountain Sage to hold 10-14 concerts/amplified noise events per year (with noise and parking conditions agreed to by stipulations in the CUP); 2) To allow farmers markets to reconvene in the garden; 3) To hold small workshops and outdoor events; 4) To enhance the site for education/community services; 5) To bring nursery and outdoor café items up to code
What Can I SAY:
1) PERSONAL MEANING: What Mountain Sage events have meant to you in the past.
2) BUSINESS OR PERSONAL CONNECTION: How these events and location have helped you as a Tuolumne County neighbor, business owner, activist.
3) FAMILY-COMMUNITY ORIENTED: How the events were mild mannered, family oriented, community driven, for all ages and respectful.
4) ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE/DRAW: If outside of Tuolumne County, what the draw is for you to come to these events and spend money in Tuolumne County/Groveland.
5) HISTORIC COMMUNITY HUB: The importance of this community hub with farmers market, events, community information, music/arts integration, while highlighting the historic property to create a thriving and resilient Groveland/Tuolumne County/Sierra Nevada foothills for the future.
6) CREDIBLE OWNERS: Share information regarding the integrity of the owners (Robb/Regina) and their accomplishments in the last few years-if you know of any, that speak to the credibility that we can continue moving the site into an integral piece of the community/county/region if allowed.
7) LEGACY PROJECT: Remind them all that this is unique situation. This is the family’s Great Grandparents homestead (and for Noah, great-great!), a legacy of community that Mary Laveroni wanted and often attended, and Robb and Regina are committed to that vision, optimizing the special homestead to once again, bring community together.
Should I spread the word?
Please do, we are wanting to pack the Board Room!!! But, also please be respectful of the process and make sure to hit on the points that are written above without negative comments regarding why we were shut down. Thanks for helping us cultivate a respectful but committed audience. WOOHOO!
