Throughout their history as soccer nations, the U.S. and Belgium have played each other seven times across all competitions. Both countries actually played their first World Cup game against each other on July 13, 1930, in Parque Central, Montevideo, Uruguay. The Americans emerged victorious, but it would be the last time for a while.

Monday is going to be a great game regardless! We'll have the game on the tellys and the volume on during the game! Come grab a burger or some moules frites, or both, and let's watch a great football match!

The Unicorn Tavern is 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍 𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐋 𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐃 on Friday and Saturday night and 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐑 𝐈𝐒 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍 𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐋 𝟏𝐀𝐌!

𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐙𝐘 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓...

Due to the positive reactions and the love shared regarding our over the top post regarding the now defunct potted plant heist and their wonderful return we are please to announce the return of 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐘.

Following the same path that brought 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐗 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐓 home, 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐘 has been returned by the person who walked off with it a few weeks ago. We were so bummed and their loss triggered our reaction (some say "unhinged" reaction) to 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐗 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐓's disappearance on Saturday night. 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐘 was made for us by one of our locals and gets a new hat every holiday and we all love them! Their host for the last couple of weeks was impacted by yesterday's social media post and it apparently drove home the point that it was okay to bring them back to their friends and family here at The Unicorn Tavern!.

𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 #2:

As you may or may not have noticed, we took our last post down....

𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄 we are ashamed of our actions calling that group of people out for what they did...

𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄 of our haters saying the terrible things about us. And BTW, some of them really should practice what they preach - you know who you are...

𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄 we decided to go ahead and call the police and it seemed silly to keep managing the post when we were just going to turn it all over to the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety...

𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄 the most amazing thing happened...

They reached out.
They called us.
They accepted responsibility.
They apologized sincerely.
They said they can't believe what they did. They told us their actions by no means reflect how they feel about our restaurant, our staff and our family. They were in tears as they confessed to their crime and told us how embarrassed they were. They told us a hand written letter was already in the post with a gift card for us to get a new potted plant.

𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍 a more amazing thing happened...

They stopped by in person.
They brought back the plant.
They apologized again in person. They told us they were glad we called them out on social media. They told they don't want to go through life being known as "The Potted Plant Get Away Driver" but if that's what happens, then they deserve it.

𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐆𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐍 𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐘? Our faith in humanity was bumped up another notch! Our frowns turned upside down into the biggest grin you've ever seen.

We are pleased to announce there is no new criminal organization in town. "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔" is now a hazy, distant memory.

This post was made possible by some people who realized their actions were a poor decision made in a split second after having a little too much fun all day. They realized it and then they went right at making it right. This is a teachable moment. This is something we know we will think about again and again. Not the taking of the plant, but the taking responsibility and owning up.

These people will continue to be welcome at The Unicorn Tavern 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐄 of what they did!

There seems to be a new criminal organization in town. The go to local businesses and steal things. Here are pictures of them stealing a $50 potted plant from our restaurant on Saturday, June 27th between 8:30pm and 9:15pm.
