Hey peeps- for those of you that have the ibotta app on your phone- I've got a Good Deed challenge for you!
Check & see if you've got this little number available (see pic). Notice how its "Free after offer"?
Well, little known secret, many food pantries & shelters also accept personal hygiene products! How about y'all go take advantage of this and donate them to a place that could really use them? It won't cost you a dime, and you'd be helping someone out during a rough time in their life. I'd call that a win/win!
I'll make this public- so feel free to share & challenge your friends & family to do the same!
Merry Christmas!

I am seriously crying y'all!
A friend just sent me a picture of a full parking lot and soooo many families getting things they need from the curb alert.
I treasure every smile from every person that this tiny cafe has been able to help over the past year.
I miss y'all immensely!
I beg of those reading this post to realize that just because Fredericktown is a small community does NOT mean we don't have homeless people among us. Nor does it mean that your friend or neighbor isn't one unexpected bill away from joining their ranks.
People who are in need don't always "look" like it. PLEASE help us continue our work and continue to spread love and compassion among your neighbors ❤❤❤

The intentions if this cafe were always to give back to the community in which we lived. We may not be open any longer, but we can still give back!
Curb alert! ALL of these items (yes- including the table and chairs!) are 100% FREE FOR THE TAKING! Take what you need, leave what you don't.
Everything from decor to office supplies to food & spices to dishes and post and pans and kitchen utensils and small appliances!
We love you, Fredericktown! Miss seeing y'all for lunch!
**Edited to add**
I have had several people message me about holding items for them. I am not at the store currently, and from the level of traffic I heard has been through, I'm not sure anything will be left by the time I get back there. It's all on a first come basis. I truly wish I had 100 of everything to hand out to people, but this is basically what is left of the store 😔

Everything has to go. Make offer.More pics to come.

BBQ FUNDRAISER OCTOBER 4TH!!!

PLEASE SHARE!
Team members, Friends, our team has decided how we are going to break in our new TEAM MCWP BBQ grill. One of our own team members Michael Bellew is unable to work because of some heart issues. Mike has three children and has to be able to care for them. He's been off for several weeks now and will continue to be off until his heart is able to strengthen enough for surgery. Mike has an aneurysm on his Aorta that has to be operated on and is also suffering with congestive heart failure. The doctors have him on a low activity regimen due to the possibility of the aneurysm rupturing, and he is wearing a monitoring vest. Mike has been on our team for 7-1/2 years and has hauled many logs into the plant. He's a dependable, hard working part of this team and at this point he has no idea of when or if he will ever be able to return to work. Lets help him out!!

On Friday October 4th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at our plant we will be grilling beef burgers and pork burgers. We will offer 2 side dishes and a soda for $5.00. Of course if anyone would like to donate more we will accept any donation. We will allow ANYONE who wants to eat to come for a meal if they order in advance. This means anyone reading this post that wants to help Mike can facebook message us in advance or call our office to place an order at 573-783-5542 (so we make sure we have plenty of food). 100% of the money raised will go to Mike as the cost of the food has already been donated by TEAM MCWP MEMBERS!! THIS GRILL WILL HELP TO DO GREAT THINGS!!

Reaching out to you wonderful people first.
If you were in love with any of the tables or chairs, let me know & shoot me an offer. They all need to go!

I've sat down to write this no less than a dozen times and had to stop because the tears blurred my vision to the point I couldn't type.
Madison & Co. Cafe closed its doors for the last time this past Friday.
Why?
I know many of you reading this are asking that question.
The answer is simple and complicated all at once.
It may shock some of you to know that I have never taken a paycheck from this restaurant. Madison & Co. was never intended to make a profit. It's intention was to give back to this wonderful community - which it has!
We have fed the area homeless MANY meals.
We have been a safe refuge for people needing to get away from life for a few moments.
We have donated to each and every non-profit and charity fundraiser that has walked through those doors.
We've been the place parents with toddlers could meet for lunch & not worry about making their children sit still at the table.
We've been a free, hot meal for many families going through hard times.
We've been the place where the lonely widow/widower could come and have conversation & human interaction.
I had grand plans to expand the cafe and continue on its mission, but it seems as though the perfect storms in both my personal and professional life have come together to form a super cell I can not battle back from this time.
All along the way we have fought equipment issues (and product loss resulting from those), break-in attempts, natural disasters across the globe forcing rising costs and subpar produce, trade tariffs increasing costs, sky high utility bills, flooding (we're on E College by Saline - that literally comes with this territory), and power outages.
I am NOT saying any of this to garner sympathy, but to let you all know the honest truth- after the latest restaurant related issue that forced us to stay closed this week, I have come to the place of understanding that I do not have the strength or resources left to battle back at this time.
I am hopeful that, given some time, and after the birth of Ms Jolene, we will be returning to once again serve our community & enjoy all of your lovely faces again.
I will miss you all dearly in the interim.
All my love,
-Kimi
