New England’s Giant Troll Trail Road Trip takes you to see all 10 of the regions giant, magical trolls from Maine to Rhode Island! These huge wooden creations are the work of Danish artist Thomas Dambo, who is known around the world for turning old and recycled materials into one-of-a-kind outdoor art:

Rhode Island Trolls:
📍Iver Mudslider (North Kingstown, Ryan Park)
📍Greta Granite (Charlestown, Ninigret Park)
📍Erik Rock (Charlestown, Ninigret Park)
📍Young Boulder (Exeter/Richmond, Arcadia Management Area)
📍Mrs. Skipper (East Providence, East Bay Bike Path at Kettle Point)
Rhode Island is home to five trolls spread across the state, and all are free to visit. Erik Rock and Greta Granit can be found at Ninigret Park in Charlestown, while Iver Mudslider hides among the wooded trails of Ryan Park in North Kingstown. Young Boulder waits near Browning Mill Pond inside Arcadia Management Area, and Mrs. Skipper can be found near the East Bay Bike Path in East Providence.
Continue north to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, where five more trolls make up an exhibit called Guardians of the Seeds. Roskva, Lilja, Birk, Søren, and Gro are scattered through the gardens and surrounding woods, with each tied to a different part of the forest. The Maine trolls were built with help from more than 150 local volunteers and staff, and much of their wood came from recycled pallets and other salvaged materials.
