This loaf was made using a simple loaf pan and basic kitchen tools—perfect for anyone wanting to start their sourdough journey without investing in fancy gear.

100g active sourdough starter
325g water
500g bread flour
10g salt

Sourdough is more than just bread—it’s a process that transforms simple ingredients into something special.

Here are a few reasons people enjoy sourdough:

Most sourdough bread starts with just flour, water, salt, and a sourdough starter.

✨ Naturally fermented
The long fermentation process develops flavor and gives sourdough its signature tang.

✨ Many people find it easier to digest*
The fermentation process breaks down some carbohydrates and proteins over time.

✨ Rich flavor and texture
Sourdough has a depth of flavor that’s difficult to replicate with quick-rise breads.

🍞 Why I started making sourdough?

A little confession: I didn’t start because I loved sourdough.

I started because I was reading ingredient labels on store-bought bread and wanted something simpler for my family.

So I decided to learn how to make my own.

At first, it wasn’t easy. There were failed starters, dense loaves, and plenty of frustration along the way.

But what started as a search for simpler ingredients became something much more.

I fell in love with the process.
The smell of fresh bread.
The satisfaction of creating something from scratch.
And the joy of sharing it with my family.

Now sourdough is one of my favorite things to bake—and I’m excited to share more of my journey with you, from traditional techniques to some fun experiments along the way. 🍞💛
