Hey everyone, I’m Jeffrey, and this is my wife, Mindy. Together, we’re the duo behind Waxhaw Woodworking.

We’ve built this business around something I’ve always cared deeply about: creating truly exceptional work and doing it the right way.

Whether it’s custom furniture, built-ins, cabinetry, or something completely unique, we want every piece that leaves our shop to reflect the level of craftsmanship we’d expect in our own home.

And there are a few different ways we can work together.

If you’re a homeowner, we can help take an idea from the “I wonder if we could…” stage all the way through design and build. With our design studio and workshop now in Fort Mill, we have a space where we can sit down together, explore ideas, and figure out exactly what works for your home. Or, we can come out and visit your home to create the vision!

We also enjoy partnering with contractors who need a reliable woodworking subcontractor and interior designers who need custom pieces to bring their vision for a space together.

But as much as we love what we build, Mindy and I also really enjoy the people this business allows us to meet.

We love getting out into the community, making new connections, and building relationships with homeowners and other local professionals.

One home, two spaces built around how this family actually lives.

First up, the crafting and office area. A dedicated space to work, create, stay organized and actually have a place for everything.

Then we move into the drop zone, built to catch all those everyday things that otherwise seem to end up… everywhere. 😂

That’s what we love about custom woodworking. It’s not just about making something that looks good. It’s about looking at a home, understanding how the family uses it, and building something specifically for them.

You may remember this piece from when we first shared it sitting finished in our shop… but a custom build just hits differently once it’s home. 👏

This is the part we love getting to see.

When we build a piece like this, we know the dimensions. We know the materials, the finish, the hardware, and every little detail that went into creating it. But seeing it actually sitting in the space it was designed for brings the whole project full circle.

Custom woodworking means creating something that doesn’t just fit your space. It belongs there.

From an idea, to our shop, to its forever home. This one was fun to watch come together.

A few years ago, Waxhaw Woodworking didn’t look anything like it does today.

It started during COVID. No design studio. No guarantee it would work. Just an idea, a love for creating things with his hands, and Jeffrey deciding to see where he could take it.

And anyone who’s built a business from the ground up knows the part you don’t always see in the finished photos.

The long days of wearing multiple hats. The money you put back into the business instead of yourself. The late nights figuring out tomorrow while still trying to be present for your family today.

There’s a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears between “I think I can build something” and what Waxhaw Woodworking has become.

Today, Jeffrey isn’t just working out of a shop building the occasional piece of furniture or built in.

Waxhaw Woodworking has grown into a full-fledged custom woodworking and design business, complete with an in-person location and design studio where ideas can actually be brought to life.

Custom furniture that becomes the centerpiece of a room. Built-ins designed specifically for the home they’re going into. One-of-a-kind pieces that aren’t coming out of a box or being found in ten thousand other houses.

And somewhere along the way, Mickie Mae apparently promoted herself to company mascot. 😂

But behind the woodworking is still the same guy who started during one of the strangest times any of us have lived through. A husband, a dad, a business owner, and somebody who kept betting on what he was building.

That family photo matters just as much as the photos of the finished work.

Because this is what supporting a local business looks like.

You’re not just buying a table or adding built-ins to your home. You’re supporting years of work, a local family, a growing team and a craftsman who gets to put a little piece of what he built into the place your family calls home.

And Jeffrey’s story is still being built.
