Big cakes for big celebrations! My son turned 4 and his cousin turned 3, so we had a joint Bluey & Bingo themed party! And naturally I had to make the cake 😋🤤

These were two identical 8 inch cakes. Two layers of vanilla & two layers of chocolate cake, with two layers of chunky oreo filling and a thin homemade strawberry compote layer. I also made the sprinkles by hand!

These were challenging as I had to make them dairy free *and* they were going to be outside in Awful South Florida heat at a local park for a good chunk of time. They stayed boxed in my car with the AC blasting for a good while. Thankfully they only began to weep well after cutting! It was a labor of love but totally worth it!

A wrap up of some of the items on my Father's Day menu! These are my (mini) brown butter bourbon chocolate chip cookies, caramel-chocolate ganache tartlets, and maple shortbread with a maple bourbon glaze!

These brown butter bourbon chocolate chunk cookies are one of my signature flavors and a highlight on my Father's Day menu! The brown butter adds a nice nutty flavor and the whisper of bourbon gives the cookie an elevated, indulgent depth. With Father's Day right around the corner, I wanted to share some of my favorite items from my menu! These are my smoky caramel-dark chocolate ganache tartlets🍫 The ganache is wonderfully balanced between dark chocolate, caramel, and a hint of smoke, with a light finish of smoked salt. Who says smokey vibes are only for the grill? 🤤

What's better than a piece of caramel? A whole slab of chewy, melt in your mouth Earl Grey caramels 🤤 This beast has to cool down before it can be cut up and individually wrapped. And now my house smells absolutely magical 🥰 Want a box? DM me for an order!

Here are the results of my test baking earlier in the week! I had a ton of fun making some mermaid-themed sugar cookies for a birthday party! 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️✨️🍪🍪

Multicolored frosting with mermaid sprinkles and edible glitter? Yes please! 🥰🤤

These are almond and lemon sugar cookies topped with almond, lemon, and blueberry frosting. The vegan and sugar-free cookie dough was a surprise hit, the cut cookies were crisp and lightly chewy without being tough. I did make a vegan and sugar-free frosting but it was exceptionally sweet and synthetic tasting, despite my best efforts. I made another batch of frosting that was vegan but with sugar, and presented both for the party, for those who can't have sugar. A magical, fun treat for sure!

I have an order for this weekend upcoming so today is recipe testing day! I made some vegan *and* sugar-free sugar cookie dough for my customer's event. They'll hang out in the freezer for a little while to hopefully keep their shape while baking. Next step's going to be a vegan & sugar-free frosting, wish me luck! 🫣

After a few years' break from social media and raising my little one, Handful of Whimsy is officially open again! 🍪✨

I decided to do some soul searching and realized that I really, really love baking and I want to focus on it more. Thank you to everyone who asked 'when are you baking again?' because you guys helped me realize just how much I want to make magical things, like these fudgy, gooey caramel chocolate brownies 🤭
