SON CAFE Our Dining Facility was Dedicated to the Soldiers of the 101st airborne Division who jumped into Son Prior to the advance on the bridge Genereal Maxwell D.

On September 17, 1944, 424 C-47s departed various airfields around England carrying 6,641 "Screaming Eagles" bound for drop zones scattered across the countryside of Holland. I particular, members of the 506th Infantry were bound for a drop zone just north of Son, Holland code name DZG. Their Objective was to capture the Son Bridge ove the Wilhelmina Canal before the Germans could destroy it. Tayl
