A new chapter begins. 🤍

For years, The Southern Spread has been about more than food. It's been about hospitality: bringing people together, celebrating life's biggest moments, and creating the kind of day people remember long after the last plate is cleared.

Today, that story gets a whole lot bigger.

The Southern Spread, alongside Vermilion Venue Co., is now the hospitality and events team behind three of Abbeville's historic venues:

✨ The Russo
✨ The James A. Herod House

This isn't just catering in three beautiful buildings. We're creating the whole experience, from the first venue tour to the last dance, helping couples, families, businesses, and neighbors bring their celebrations to life with beautiful spaces, incredible food, thoughtful service, and warm Southern hospitality.

If you've followed us for a while, you know the road here. The Southern Spread began around a table. You've watched us grow from a home bakery to a food truck to a restaurant to catering, and now into something bigger: hospitality. This next chapter is everything that journey was building toward.

Each of these historic properties has its own story, its own personality, its own place in Abbeville's history. We're not here to change what makes them special. We're here to fill them with life.

At The Caldwell House, we've already introduced newly reimagined wedding experiences, including fully inclusive packages that make planning easier and more attainable. Catering, bar, DJ, cake, officiant, florals, tables, chairs, linens, and more, all brought together in one thoughtfully planned day. And we're only getting started.
