No judgment here.

This is a safe space for people who love food but occasionally make questionable decisions in the kitchen.

So let's hear your confession…

I'll go first:

Sometimes you spend two hours planning an amazing dinner…
…and then eat cereal. 🥣

Or maybe you're guilty of:
👀 Eating half the food before dinner is even served
🧂 Adding seasoning without measuring a SINGLE THING
🔥 Saying “I'll just check the smoker real quick” and disappearing for 30 minutes
🍗 Making enough food for 12 people when there are only 3 people eating
🥩 Sneaking a piece off the cutting board before anyone else gets any
🍕 Ordering takeout after spending all day cooking

We've all been there.

🔥 BBQ RULES NOBODY EVER ACTUALLY WROTE DOWN 🔥

There are certain rules in BBQ that everybody just… knows. 😂

Rule #1:
If you're standing next to the smoker, you're automatically in charge of the smoker.

Rule #2:
Nobody is allowed to ask, “Is it done yet?” every 15 minutes.

👀 We know who you are.

Rule #3:
The person cooking gets the first bite.
This is not negotiable. You know we are sneaking bites while cooking!😂

Rule #4:
If somebody says, “That's enough seasoning…”

It is NOT enough seasoning.

Rule #5:
You don't need a reason to fire up the grill.

It's Saturday.

That's reason enough. 🇺🇸🔥

And the most important rule of all:
GOOD FOOD + GOOD PEOPLE = A DAMN GOOD DAY.

🧂😂 BE HONEST… WHAT’S IN YOUR SPICE CABINET? 😂🧂

You know that cabinet.

The one packed with 47 bottles of seasoning…

Half of them you've never used or used only once and maybe a double or two of some.

Three are probably older than your kids.

And somehow you STILL buy another one every time you go grocery shopping. 😂

We've all got that one mystery bottle hiding in the back.

So let's settle this:

🔥🇺🇸 MEET THE SPICE SLINGER BEHIND THE AMERICAN COMMISSARY 🇺🇸🔥

Every business has a story.

The American Commissary started with a love for good food, good BBQ, and the belief that a great meal starts with great seasoning.

What started with mixing spices and experimenting in the kitchen turned into something much bigger — creating our own small-batch seasonings and rubs and sharing them with people who love cooking as much as we do.
We aren't a giant spice company.

There isn't a huge factory somewhere cranking out thousands of bottles a day.
It's small batch. Hand mixed. Made with purpose.

We've taken our seasonings from our own kitchen to backyard grills, family dinners, events, and even BBQ competitions. Along the way, we've had some pretty cool wins and met some amazing people.

And we're just getting started. 🔥

Our goal is simple:
Make seasoning that makes you want to cook something.

So whether you're smoking a brisket, grilling chicken, making tacos, throwing potatoes in the oven, or just trying to make Tuesday night's dinner a little less boring…

🌟 Exploring New Places = Inspiration! 🌟

One of my favorite things to do is check different markets and see what’s out there in different marketplaces. There’s so much inspiration to be found when you step into the unknown! This week, stopped at an oldie but a goodie I explored H Mart, and let me tell you—it’s a foodie paradise! 🛒🍜

From fresh produce and unique spices to an incredible selection of snacks, sauces, and ingredients I’ve never seen before, it was such a fun experience. The smells, the colors, the flavors—I could’ve spent hours just wandering the aisles (and maybe I did!). If you’re looking to shake up your kitchen game or just want to try something new, definitely check it out.

I left feeling so inspired, and of course, I couldn’t resist picking up a few goodies to experiment with. Who knows, maybe a future spice blend will be sparked by what I found! 🌶️✨
