Weeks ago, these eggs were just a collection of questionable decisions and unrealistic optimism. Today, they’re tiny dinosaurs with trust issues, sprinting around the brooder like they pay rent.

Every hatch feels a little bit like science, a little bit like magic, and a lot like standing in front of an incubator at 2 AM wondering if you’re losing your mind.

Some hatched early. Some made us wait. Some arrived looking like they immediately wanted to speak to management.

But here they are.

Tiny peeps. Tiny feet. Tiny attitudes.

Thank you to everyone who followed along through candling, lockdown, humidity checks, panic, more panic, and the inevitable “Is this normal?” moments.

The incubator is finished.

The brooder is full.

The chaos has only just begun.

6.5 week chick check-in! 🐣
The tiny fluff balls that moved into the brooder a few weeks ago are officially entering their awkward teenager phase. Feathers are coming in, personalities are getting bigger, and they somehow manage to eat twice as much while looking offended that the feeder isn't already full.
It's amazing how much changes in just a few weeks. Some are already showing off their future colors, some are practicing their flying skills, and a few have clearly decided they're in charge of the entire operation.
A little over a month ago they fit in the palm of my hand. Now they're well on their way to joining the flock.
