🇺🇸 FIRST FRIDAY + FOURTH OF JULY = HOT DOGS. 🌭

Tonight we’re doing something a little different.

To celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary, we’re hosting The Grit’s First Annual Fourth of July “Cookout”!

Instead of our regular menu, we’ll be serving an old-fashioned cookout menu built for a busy night downtown:

🌭 Hot Dogs - $2.50
🍟 Hand-Cut French Fries - $2.50
🍋 Fresh Lemonades & Orangeades - $2.50

Build your own dog at our condiment bar with all the classics - ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, AND sauerkraut.

With thousands of people expected downtown for First Friday and the Fourth of July celebration, this lets us serve more people, faster, while keeping everyone fed and back to the festivities.

Grab a dog, grab some fries, and celebrate with us. We’ll see y’all at 5:00!

Good morning y’all! Happy First Friday!  Preparations are well underway downtown for Elizabeth City’s annual Fourth of July celebration. Just a couple of updates for y’all:

We will be closed until 5PM today. We need to move some things around in the kitchen and make some upgrades so that we can better serve y’all every day. Electrician is going to be in this morning and we plan to be set by the afternoon. Disappointed we’re not gonna be able to have you join us this morning, but we promise it’ll be worth it in the long run.

Sorry we’ve been quiet today, but it’s clear y’all haven’t been! The word is spreading and we’re welcoming more new guests every day. We couldn’t do it without y’all. Thank you so much!

If you or somebody you know is interested in joining our group of misfits, send us a message and we’ll be in touch. Interviews are at 9AM each day.

We’re hiring for front and back of house. All experience levels. Perfect opportunity for somebody looking to get into a kitchen and learn the ropes. We’ll provide all of the necessary training.

We’re looking for high energy people who can listen actively, acknowledge, and follow through.

Days, nights, weekdays, weekends. Immediate availability. Compensation discussed during interview.

Y’all. For real…y’all. You’re all great. We got smoked today for lunch. We doubled our handcut fries, ground more chuck and brisket, marinated more wings, and y’all still wiped us out. We’re going to need a few hours to reset.

Thank you to everybody that ate with us for lunch today - especially your patience as we worked through a large number of customers. We still have some work to do, but we appreciate you bearing with us.

We’ve got some updates to make in the kitchen, and things will get a little smoother everyday. Keep an eye out for a job posting soon!

Well y’all, we made it. Our first full day. We were a little slow out of the gates this morning, but we found our legs and were off. Huge shoutout to the entire team for working hard this past week to get a little better every day. And a huge shoutout to all of you who have made this day and every day a success. We’ll see you again tomorrow - open 11AM-8PM. Goodnight y’all!

PS - We’re going to keep online ordering off for a few more days while we continue to tighten up our processes. You all will be the first to know when we’re live again!
