My son, Graham, living on the Reunion Island, makes THE BEST Humous!! We had a beach party and he made three bowls! Graham is sharing it, in his own words, with all of you!
Bon appétit!
One can of chickpeas.
A good spoon (like a spoon of ice cream) of sesame butter paste.
(you would usually find that at Indian or Oriental store)
If you don’t have sesame butter, then you can just use a good dose of sesame oil, which is what I did last week. And in that case, I don’t add any extra olive oil, then that would be too much.
Add a bit of olive oil if needed.
Three or four cloves of garlic
A soup size spoon of cumin whole seeds…
Salt and pepper
A good dose of lemon juice (probably one lemon)
I add some spice: like a tiny drop of hot pepper oil for example.
It all goes into a pot and i mix it well with the stick blender.
Add more lemon and salt if needed after tasting… add a half cup of water if it’s too thick
Serve in a bowl… that you can shake even out the surface.
Top decoration : throw three or four chickpeas that you would have reserved to the side before mixing on top,
Sprinkle some paprika, cumin, seeds, thyme, maybe extra olive oil.

Goes great with crudités, labné, tagine, lamb, chicken, falafels, and taboulé. I will be making this lakeside very soon!! 👩🏼‍🍳

Rosé Couture… a graceful blend of rosé wine, ripe strawberry purée, fresh basil, and a touch of peach liqueur. The perfect toast to a day of serenity at The Palm Hotel & Spa, where every sip is as breathtaking as the view. 🩷🌿🍓

Lunch with a view… and my favorite dining companion.

Perched high above Saint-Denis, Villa Fleurié offers more than refined cuisine—it celebrates the remarkable ingredients of Réunion through elegant French technique. Every course was beautifully composed, balanced, and full of thoughtful surprises.

As memorable as the menu was, sharing this experience with my daughter, Julia, made the afternoon unforgettable. Traveling through France and Réunion has reminded me that the finest meals are never just about what’s on the plate—they’re about the people gathered around the table.

Merci, Julia, for such a beautiful treat. ❤️🇷🇪

✨ Lunch at Monsieur Dior was nothing short of haute couture on a plate.

I began with La Rose des Vents—a chilled melon soup with fresh almonds and preserved elderflower blossoms, as refreshing and elegant as a summer garden. I am definitely upgrading my version of chilled melon soup! Then came the sublime Tarte Friande de Langoustine aux Perles Iodées, bathed in a delicately acidulated beurre monté. Every bite was perfection… the kind of dish that makes you slow down because you never want it to end. Incredible!

Paired with a beautiful glass of Bandol Rosé in Drior crystal. The finale was the exquisite Tarte Soufflée au Chocolat Haute Couture—a sweet masterpiece worthy of the House of Dior itself, shared with dear friends.

A feast for the senses, where fashion, artistry, and gastronomy meet. 🌸✨🥂

A delightful splurge in the name of beauty, friendship, and fine cuisine. Worth every exquisite bite.🥂🍾
