Today we salute Detroit garage rocker extraordinaire Mick Collins. He is a founding member of The Gories, Blacktop, Dirtbombs, and many other great bands. The barber craze is upon us. Which is your favorite new school/old school barber? Detroit has some great choices. In midtown, there is the Social Club Grooming Company and Fellow Barber. Head downtown, we have the newer Standard Barber Company and the longstanding Sam's Barber shop in the Dime building. Head out into the neighborhoods, and we have too many to count. Searching for the elusive Boogaloo sandwich? Search no further than Chef Greg’s Soul “N” The Wall at SW corner of Curtis & Wyoming.

The Boogaloo sandwich is a Detroit original, first served Brothers’ BBQ near Mumford High School. Named by a Mumford student in 1967 after the popular Boogaloo dance ("This sandwich tastes so good it makes me want to do The Boogaloo!").
