Event In Focus | Cameras & Coffee Walkabout

Hey Detroit! Sepia Coffee is excited to announce our very first Cameras & Coffee Walkabout being held this Sunday, Oct 20th at 10:30am. Meeting point is our cafe(2831 E Grand Blvd). The walkabout route will include Milwaukee Ave, Woodward Ave, Euclid St. and Oakland Ave. Shout out to our friends at City Institute for collaborating with us on this!

Before hitting the streets, we wanted to add some coffee conversation to the mix and are excited to have our partners from BD Imports and CCRE taking part! Phyllis Johnson has been a mentor to so many of us in specialty coffee and we are honored to have her here to highlight the Black Producers Program she created in Brazil. Many of you have fallen in love with our Hastings Blend. Well, we have Phyllis and over 30 Black Brazilian farmers to thank for that!

What better way to spend a wonderful autumn morning than with your fam here at Sepia!

So grab your camera, dress warm and let's capture the richness of Detroit in our cups and behind the lens! Hastings along with two new single origin Brazils will be flowing for you all to taste.

**And To top off the event**, We're offering attendees 15% OFF all retail! Yep - that includes beans, tea, ceramics and home equipment. So hit the Eventbrite link in our bio to sign up!

See you Sunday!

Coffee Community! Sepia Coffee needs to raise $30k to get both East Grand Blvd and Hamilton Ave locations up and running.

The East Grand Blvd development will immediately generate revenue as this is an established cafe takeover. We just need to cushion operations and finish up engineering work on the HP development so we submit our application for building permits.

If 60 people invested/increased their investment by $500, we've hit this milestone. We need to raise this capital by Aug 31st to be on schedule so I'm calling on the community(near and far).

Hit the investment form link below and I'll follow up.

My name is Martell Mason and I'm CEO and head roaster at Sepia Coffee - a minority-owned roastery in Detroit. I've spent over a decade working on an academic and professional level in coffee throughout Asia, East Africa and Europe. Pivoting with the pandemic, I returned to the US in 2021 to regroup....

When Martell Mason returned to metro Detroit in 2020, he found a more hopeful place than the one he’d left 20 years earlier. Yet when he zoomed in on his home city — the two-mile-radius encla…
