WOW! More than 4,000 donuts have already been made and sold this morning! 🍩🔥 What an incredible day!
A special thank-you to our new baker, Mimi, and the entire Elby Donuts team for working so hard and making it all possible.
Anyway, Yesterday, I asked how much everyone thought it costs to build and open a donut shop. The answer is approximately $200,000–$250,000—and that doesn’t include purchasing the building.
That money goes toward construction, plumbing, electrical work, the hood system, equipment, display cases, permits and many other expenses. Our hood system alone cost around $40,000, and plumbing and the grease trap can cost approximately $45,000.
I’m sharing this because every time you support Elby Donuts, you’re helping us expand, create more local jobs and reinvest in our community.
A supplier from Texas recently offered us lower prices, but I politely declined because I want to work with and support local suppliers. It may cost us more, but supporting local should be more than just words.
