UPDATE: Thank you! The response has been, frankly, overwhelming! You're all so willing to help. We should have all the help we need at the moment, so we've paused the form. But don't worry, we'll have plenty of need for volunteers on future projects! 💜

Calling all volunteers! Help us pull off Saturday's Game Garage Sale and get first pick of the sale before it even opens to the public.

We're looking for a few extra hands to help us get ready for our Game Garage Sale this Saturday, September 26th, at the Rook Room Game Lounge & Cafe. Volunteers will be needed Friday and will help with labeling, organizing, and moving games, as well as setting up and organizing the sale tables.

As a thank-you: bottomless soda while you volunteer, a free drink token to use whenever, and first pick of one Garage Sale game per shift – yours to grab before the public gets a chance to pick them over.

Calling all treasure hunters (and Baxter fans), big and small. 🦫 The Rook Room Game Lounge & Cafe presents this year's Beaverdale Fall Festival Scavenger Hunt – Saturday, September 19th, 10 AM to 9 PM. Pick up a clue sheet at the festival info tent, then track down Baxter the Beaver hiding around the festival and at local businesses, collecting secret words along the way.

Turn in your completed sheet at the info tent for a thank-you prize. It's completely free and perfect for the whole family. More info at the link in the comments. Grab your crew and start hunting!

Tomorrow's the day to peg your way to the top! Our Cribbage Tournament returns Saturday, September 19th, 11 AM to 2 PM at the Rook Room Game Lounge & Cafe. It's $5 to play, round-robin style, and open to every skill level – no need to be a Cribbage pro.

Got games taking up space you don't play anymore? This is your sign...and it's a garage sale sign.

We're still accepting board games and expansions to sell at our upcoming Game Garage Sale, but drop-off closes soon – Wednesday, September 23rd at 10 PM. There are a few specific rules for packaging, pricing, and payout, so check the seller form on our website before you bring anything in.

And when the sale itself rolls around, here's what to expect: Saturday, September 26th, 8 AM to 2 PM at the Rook Room Game Lounge & Cafe. Sellers set their own prices, so expect some great deals and unique finds.

This weekend, our Adventure Sundays are hitting the high seas under the skull and crossbones 🏴‍☠️

In celebration of Talk Like a Pirate Day on Saturday, we're unofficially extending it to Talk Like a Pirate WEEKEND with games of the easy-to-pick-up-and-play RPG Pirate Borg on Sunday!

Our own Rook Room Member Kyle is running a Pirate Borg game group for Adventure Sunday from 5 PM to 10 PM. Step into the Dark Caribbean, a d20 tabletop RPG full of undead pirates, cursed treasure, and questionable life choices. Character creation is quick, the rules are simple, and Kyle will walk you through it. All you need to bring is your best pirate voice (optional, but encouraged).

It's completely free, no sign-up needed, and everyone's welcome. If pirates and TTRPGs aren't your thing, we're also open for regular gaming, chillin', and hangin' out. Whatever you're into, we'll see you Sunday at the Rook Room Game Lounge & Cafe, mateys.

Trivia night is going on the road this Friday...to Beaverdale (with a first-place cash prize 💰)

We're bringing Rook Room Trivia Night out to the Beaverdale Fall Festival from 6 PM to 9 PM at the intersection of Beaver and Urbandale Avenues. This is one of our favorite yearly fall traditions at one of our favorite fests. Sign up for team trivia and join us with up to five of your smartest friends to compete for some amazing prizes.
