Hi fam,

This morning, a mayoral candidate showed up to our shop, at our busiest time, for a scheduled campaign event. This was news to us because we received no calls in advance asking us if this was okay. We’ve heard this is happening at other shops as well and would hope campaigns would work with small business versus surprising them during their peak hours.

We made a decision a long time ago not to host political events at our shop as we know we have patrons who are supporting people across the board in this race. We are family. We are a community. We welcome everyone, including candidates. However, scheduling a campaign event and promoting it on their social media pages without our knowledge is entirely inappropriate.

Small business across Denver are struggling. We need a mayor that supports small businesses and respects owners, our staff and our patrons. Vote April 4th.
