Forever ago, after I had my first son, I was starving. I hadn't eaten in a couple of days, but the kitchen was closed. One wonderful nurse promised to track something down for me. She came back with a custard. I tell you, that was the best thing I'd ever eaten and every time I see a recipe like this, I think of it. 😅

We caption this, “Truth in advertising” because my Papa loves his ‘deer camp cookies’! Chocked full of chocolate bits, pecans, oatmeal, coconut, and cereal, or any variation thereof. Nothing better to have with you on a cool morning along with a hot cup of coffee.... Deer stand optional 😉
