We’re so excited to celebrate LaVui’s three wonderful years! 🥳 Today, September 1st, marks the opening of this quaint and casual Viet spot that was previously a small donut shop! 🥂

Hospitality and hosting guests holds a central place in the Vietnamese culture, as we express our love through food. Chef Thanh’s mother reared all of her children in a way that they would carry forward this legacy. In September of 2020, he embarked on a special project, opening LaVui—a quick-serve restaurant dedicated to Vietnamese street food. LaVui serves as both a tribute to his mother, “Mama” Vui, and their Vietnamese heritage. Having this restaurant, is also a means to connect with guests and share the wisdom and love imparted by his mother. Chef and the team at LaVui strive to provide comfort through the joy of Viet comfort food favorites and invite others to experience the warmth and richness of our culinary traditions.

Gà kho, Vietnamese Caramelized Chicken cooked in a clay pot, is an aromatic, sweet, spicy, and a well-balanced combination of flavors with a hint of ginger, lemongrass and fish sauce – we promise, it will knock your socks off! It is similar to an iron cast pan or skillet in the Western world, it imparts more depth of flavors in your food. If you haven't tried it yet, add it to the list!
FBNFP (Funny But Necessary Fine Print): This is featured on our menu as the Clay Pot Chicken and we also offer the Clay Pot Black Cod, Cá Kho Tộ, is another Vietnamese staple and both are served with rice.

Our fresh catch for the day was a doughnut…which is your indulgence? Savory or Sweet? We selfishly choose savory…and then save the other catch for dessert. The best decision that you do-nut regret, we promise. Happy National Doughnut Day!

Cơm Chiên (fried rice) is a Viet staple, the Vietnamese approach to making a casserole – where you can throw in any veggie, protein or keeping it plain and simple, with some simple seasonings!
